A good quality Striking and Repeating carriage clock by DROCOURT (Pierre & Alfred) working at Saint-Nicholas d'Aliermont, Paris signed and numbered 22386 circa 1880. This example has original gilding and platform lever escapement.

JACOT STRIKING CARRIAGE

A fine corniche cased carriage clock by one of the finest of the French Victorian maker's, Henri Jacot. The eight day movement has a well made platform lever escapement, with the backplate stamped with the trademark of Jacot, a parrot on a perch with either side the initials 'H.J.' (jacot being french for parrot)
The high quality white enamel dial has a typical Jacot inner ring, one of his trademarks, black Roman hour numerals and blued steel spade hands. The case is serial numbered throughout, and comes with a numbered key.

A Victorian gilt-brass novelty ship's wheel timepiece, the substantial single fusee movement with lever escapement and mono-metalic balance mounted onto separate gilt sub-frame with mask and scroll engraved balance cock, with Harrison's maintaining power and circular silvered Roman numeral dial with subsidiary seconds dial and fast/slow regulation above twelve o'clock, signed BENZIE, 61 HIGH STREET, COWES to centre, the case further signed to a shaped cartouche beneath dial, on rectangular base with engraved borders, 34cm high
